Description: Hi, I sell more than collectables, I sell stories. Read if you want detailed information or just look at the detailed photos. I will be adding several very unique items, mostly airship and Zeppelin related over the next few days. I look for rare or very hard to come by collectables to add to your collection. I almost sold out of the last lot I put up. DescriptionI have one very unique, rare, extremely hard to find copy of "The Chesapeake Pilot" from April 11, 1928. It was published by the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.,Inc. HistoryFirst, I love that the cover of this publication has a drawing of an airship which was named "Baltimore". No, there weren't any airships at the time named the Baltimore however the drawing looks like the USS Los Angeles, which was built by the Goodyear-Zeppelin Company in 1923-1924 in Germany. The airship drawing has the same gondola as the Graf Zeppelin and Hindenburg designs which differed from the US Navy airships built stateside. The USS Los Angeles was still flying in 1928 and it just makes sense that this is what the drawing is based on. You can formulate your own opinion of course!!! I am open to suggestions or ideas. Baltimore is where the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company looks like it is from based on the publications cover page, however, it is more known to have been in Akron, Ohio. I am not 100% sure where the Baltimore location was located but it was a branch of the company. This publication's cover page and following pages were printed material and the information typed. The author, B. M. Morris, was probably a sales manager and this publications were probably distributed to salesman in the Baltimore area. It has some interesting facts about what was discussed and what information was important to the Goodyear Company back then. I don't think much has changed since then, except for....technology??? :) Nope, no more type-writer typed out letters and brochures. There is a total of 11 pages including the cover page. I took photos of each one. The publication is in very good shape except for the one metal staple at the top. Its a tad rusted and doesn't really do much anymore as the cover sheet is loose. I placed the publication in a archival quality acid free non PVC binder. Note that the binder might be shipped with the plastic clasp removed. You might have to put it on.***The interest in this item is really not the contents but the very nifty drawing on the front. I hope you find it as interesting as me. Research-There are no others out there for sale based on my internet search of all of the big auction houses, Live Auctioneers, or of course eBay. I couldn't find any references to this item as well. I could easily say it is the only one existing today. I have had this for several months and have checked back weekly on the internet without anything even close. I take my shipping seriously. If you have ever purchased from me in the past, you will know that. Paper goods and photos are sent completely surrounded by acid free archival quality papers and/or acid free PVC free Polypropylene bags and covers. This cost me well spent money. I also use a variety of recycled and new packaging including boxes and mailers. I try not to profit on my shipping. Please do not misinterpret my shipping charges. I take my time when packing anything anyone buys. I don't rush it, but at the same time, I don't overdue it. I hand select packaging materials that will not only protect the items value but will protect it during shipping. By placing a bid or buying it outright, you agree to any method I use to pack your item, new or used shipping material as I see fit. What is the best thing about my packaging? They are easy to open! How many times have you received a package only to spend ten minutes trying to open it without destroying the contents!!! No extra tape, glue, staples, or my worst fear, items shoved between two pieces of cardboard with tape on every edge requiring a surgeon's scalpel to open it!!! I will ship this anywhere for $6.99. Remember that the binder might be shipped with the black clasp removed, but inside the mailer. I will see when I pack it what is easier and cheaper to do to cut down on shipping expenses for you. I also might ship it in a homemade mailing tube!!! I promise it will get to you safe! I do offer extra options for shipping. This is a new store for me but I have been on Ebay for over 26 years with perfect feedback. I will be adding many more Zeppelin, Airship and Aviation related photos, postcards and a variety of relics over the next few days, weeks and months. Check back with me every week to see what I have added. Please contact me first with any issues. Thanks for looking!!!
