Description: Vintage handmade German porcelain Elfinware trinket or powder box circa 1930's. This sweet vanity box has a pale-yellow lusterware exterior finish with the traditional porcelain handmade flower and Forget-Me-Not design on the box lid. Beautiful boxes like this were found on vanities, dressers and bedside tables all over the world in the late 19th century and throughout the 20th century. The box measures 4-1/4" L x 3-1/2" W. The underside has a Made in Germany and 78 stamped into the porcelain. CONDITION: GOOD VINTAGE CONDITION WITH A FEW BROKEN PETALS ON THE SMALL VIOLET FLOWERS AND SOME OF THE FLOWER'S STAMENS ARE BROKEN AS SHOWN IN THE LISTING PHOTOS. THERE ARE SOME WHITE SPOTS IN THE YELLOW LUSTERWARE AS WELL THAT IS A PRODUCTION DEFECT. THIS ITEM SALE PRICED ACCORDINGLY.
