Finite Element Analysis for Civil Engineering with DIANA Software by Shun Chai (

Description: Finite Element Analysis for Civil Engineering with DIANA Software by Shun Chai Both the book and DIANA itself are valuable resources for students and researchers in all the structural engineering fields, such as civil engineering, bridge engineering, geotechnical engineering, tunnel engineering, underground structural engineering, irrigation, municipal engineering and fire engineering. FORMAT Paperback LANGUAGE English CONDITION Brand New Publisher Description This book systematically introduces readers to the finite element analysis software DIANA (DIsplacement ANAlyzer) and its applications in civil engineering. Developed by TNO Corporation in the 1970s, DIANA is frequently used in civil engineering and engineering mechanics. Unlike the software users manual, which provides a comprehensive introduction and theoretical analysis, this book presents a simplified overview of the basic background theory to help beginners master the software quickly. It also discusses GUI operation and the command console in Python language, and includes examples involving classical modeling operations to help readers review each section. Both the book and DIANA itself are valuable resources for students and researchers in all the structural engineering fields, such as civil engineering, bridge engineering, geotechnical engineering, tunnel engineering, underground structural engineering, irrigation, municipal engineering and fire engineering. Author Biography Mr. Shun Chai is currently a PhD candidate at Department of Civil Engineering in Southeast University, Nanjing, China. His research field is mainly focused on evaluation of structural state, including the long-term evaluation of precast segmental bridges, resilient design of bridges, stochastic finite element method of polynomial chaos extension on structural reliability research as well as the current UHPC research.Dr. Chai participated in many experiments, including long-term performance experiment and the flexural research of precast segmental concrete (PCS) bridges . During the process of researching stochastic finite element method, he has gained vast expertise as well as rich experience in DIANA version 9.4, 10.1 and 10.2 software. In 2018, his book Finite Element Analysis of Diana 10.1 on Civil Engineering was published by Nanjing University Press in Chinese language (ISBN: 978-7-305-20282-7). Table of Contents Summary of DIANA Finite Element Analysis software.- Brief introduction of DIANA constitutive models and specifications.- Nonlinear analysis of DIANA Modeling cases in Civil Engineering.- Hydration heat reaction.- Nonlinear finite element numerical analysis of Precast Segmental components.- Drawbacks of DIANA release 10.1 and suggestions for further release versions.- Supplementary materials. Feature Offers a simple and easy-to follow introduction to the DIANA finite element analysis (FEA) software Provides the command console in Python language that can be downloaded and imported into the DIANA software, rendering a new and faster way for beginners to use the software than GUI Focuses on structural nonlinear analysis, and includes several modeling numerical cases covering a vast range of fields in civil engineering Discusses how to edit and modify command console manuscript for running DIANA software automatically Presents not only an introduction of structural elements and constitutive materials, but also a large number of numerical modeling cases covering many typical analysis fields and emerging materials, techniques, and structures in civil engineering Details ISBN9811529477 Author Shun Chai Pages 638 Language English Year 2021 ISBN-10 9811529477 ISBN-13 9789811529474 Format Paperback Publication Date 2021-05-29 Publisher Springer Verlag, Singapore Edition 1st Imprint Springer Verlag, Singapore Place of Publication Singapore Country of Publication Singapore Translated from Chinese UK Release Date 2021-05-29 Edition Description 1st ed. 2020 Alternative 9789811529443 DEWEY 624.177 Audience Professional & Vocational Illustrations 838 Illustrations, color; 146 Illustrations, black and white; IX, 638 p. 984 illus., 838 illus. in color.
