Description: Up for bid is a heavy Indian solid cast silver Hindu ritual Ganesh idol in plaque form. The piece is about 2 3/8 inches tall by 1 5/8 inches wide by 5/8 inch thick and weighs 243 grams. It shows a seated Ganesh in relief on an ovoid base. The back and foot show pits from sand casting and files marks from trimming. There are no marks; it does test as silver.NOTE: I am selling a large accumulation of Indian silver, some Hindu and some secular. Some pieces appear to be quite old, others seem newer. I am not an expert on Hindu practices or traditions; any errors in the descriptions are unintentional. Condition on the piece is good. There is wear from use and handling, but no real damage. A fine silver idol.
