The photos are of my standard 4.5-pound hammer. These hammers are all hand-forged, one-at-a-time, so PLEASE understand there will be some variations. The handle is top grade American hardwood, kiln dried, custom fit specifically for these hammers, torch burn finished. All of my hammer heads are forged from new 1045 steel, water-quenched, and oven-tempered, for a consistent and long-lasting tool. These hammers are forged by hand, by me, in my shop, in Kentucky, with the use of forges, presses, power hammers, and hand-forging. The rounding hammer features two faces...the rounding and the flat face. The rounding face concentrates the force of each hammer blow and allows you to pin-point the exact location of each hammer blow, exactly where it needs to be. The flat side is used to smooth out your work at the end. My hammer faces are ground with a series of grinding belts up to 180 grit and then buffed on a fine buffing wheel for a smooth, clean, even finish. I have made and shipped well over 1000 hammers to blacksmiths and farriers around the globe. My hammers receive excellent feedback time after time again and are the favorite forging tool of many full time and hobbyist smiths alike.
