The first CD, "Fanny Brice: The Real Funny Girl," offers rare recordings of Brice herself (including performances available on no other CDs), drawn from the personal collection of Brice-expert Chip Deffaa, with guest stars including Jack Benny, Bob Hope, Martha Raye, and Talullah Bankhead. The second CD, "Fanny Brice: Rare and Unreleased Recordings," offers additional rarities, curated and introduced by Deffaa, with guest artists including Frank Morgan, Hanley Stafford, Don Wilson. These first two CDs include performances by Brice, including alternate versions, of songs forever associated with Brice, such as "My Man," "I'd Rather be Blue," "Second Hand Rose," "Rose of Washington Square," "I'm an Indian." You can hear Brice offer different versions, years apart, of some of her signature numbers. And these first two CDs also include some "Baby Snooks" sketches. The third CD is a cast album for "One Night with Fanny Brice," the Off-Broadway success, written, arranged, and directed by Deffaa. Please note: Brice herself is not heard on the third CD; it is the cast album of a show about Brice, with an actress (K. F. Greenberg) portraying Brice; however the score features songs that Brice performed in her career, including some specialties that she never recorded.
