Description: Offered for your consideration is a small ruby flashed open compote made by Adams and Company (1861-1891) in their "XLCR" pattern. Also known as "Excelsior", "Kings Crown", or "Kings Crown Thumbprint", this pattern was introduced in 1891. The compote measures 5.25 inches (13.3 cm) in diameter and is 5.25 inches (13.3 cm) tall. This compote is in very good used condition with no cracks, chips, nor repairs. There are several light scratches tin the ruby stain which is otherwise deep and rich. There is wear around the thumbprints and on bottom of base. Compote is used so there may be additional minor indications of use. See photos. The glass is bright and clear with no cloudiness, discoloration, nor lime scale present. There may be bubbles, a shear (straw) mark, and other minor imperfections within the glass due to the manufacturing process used at the time. Compote will be shipped from a smoke-free home and will be packed securely for shipping. Good luck and thank you for your interest.
