Detroit Universal Joint Body 1946 1947 1948 U-Joint NOS Mopar Plymouth Dodge

Description: Offered is a NEW old stock Detroit FRONT universal joint body fitting SOME 1946 1947 1948 Plymouth and Dodge cars. The flange diameter is the normal 3 5/8". Height is not the normal 3" but is 3 1/2". The additional 1/2" body height was required on vehicles using a cross type rear joint and the Detroit style on the FRONT universal joint. The Mopar number is 952545. It does not interchange with ANY Mopar application but the above listed cars. It does use the commonly available components as pins, bearings and boots but they are not included. Bid is for the 3 1/2" length housing only. One little known historical fact per the Detroit U-joint housings. There was only one manufacture. Regardless how a housing was boxed it was made by Studebaker. Yep..Stude owned the Detroit license.
