This painting was completed in 1997 (on the back). The piece is signed "Sularz" lower right. The painting is in excellent condition. The artist, Philip Sularz, has been exhibiting since 1965. Born in Minneapolis, he was a student of the New York Abstract expressionist, Peter Busa, Milton Howard, Hank Rowan, Mario Volpe, and Malcolm Myers. Mr. Sularz's work is found in collections throughout the United States and Canada. The artist may be referenced in Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in America. This painting depicts the rocky sea coast of Jamestown, RI, at Beavertail State Park, during a December storm.
