(Chest 24, 27, 28, 30, 32 and waist 22, 23, 24, 26 and 27") From the pattern: "This pattern is for a basic dress, meant to be worn by girls from the age of 5 or 6 up until they graduate to adult clothing. It is meant to be worn as daily wear, or dressed up with a little ribbon or trim, it is suitable for a better dress. We have included some options in this pattern to allow you to create a dress that will be pleasing as well as serviceable. Examination of period photographs (CDV's) show that the bodice and skirt were attached to the waistband using several methods. Our instructions are for a pleated method and a gathered method, as we found these to be the most common. We have also included options for two styles of sleeves, a bishop sleeve (shirt style) and a coat sleeve. Instructions are also given for different methods of hemming the dress. Pattern requirements: For Basic Dress: Size 6 and 8: 3-3 1/2 yards 45" wide fabric. Size 10 and 13: 3 1/2 -4 yards 45" wide fabric. Size 14: 5 yards 45" wide fabric. If you desire a contrasting fabric hem, cuffs, stripes and waistband: 3/4 - 1yard 45" fabric. 6-10 glass, mother of pearl, wood or bone buttons for back and cuffs.
