Description: Caughley Hand Painted Cobalt & Gold Butterfly Floral & Stars Plate Circa 1775-1790 Nice 18th century fluted porcelain luncheon plate. Decorated with a cobalt and gold butterfly in the center surrounded by three cobalt and gold stars. With a cobalt and gold border with gold floral designs. Marked on the bottom with the blue underglaze S used by Caughley between 1775 and 1790. Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. Measures approximately 8 1/4 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece. ES
