Description: Bulk Yarrow. (4 oz) ---~~~~~~--- Yarrow Cut, Dried, and Tied. Achillea Millefolium Grown in my Personal garden in Eastern Washington State, as well as wildcrafted from the rambling hills and dales of my small town in the mountains and offerred in Generously sized bundles from Our Home to Yours ~~~ Yarrow, widely used in every sort of floral design, including weddings , also commands respect as one of the most powerful plants in Mother Nature's Medicine Cabinet. I was introduced to Yarrow from the earliest age from my maternal grandmother who is a professional floral designer, gardener, and herbalist So I have spent a lifetime surrounded by this beautiful, and beautifully fragrant plant. Its Genus, "Achillea" Originates with the warrior Achilles for his reputation of bringing yarrow along with he and his troops, I assume to The Trojan War, to stop bleeding during battle. Soldiers during the American Civil War famously carried it with them into battle to stop bleeding, as well as for nosebleeds, along with toothaches is one of its famous uses. Its uses among First Nations Tribes is almost universal, especially among Navajo as an infusion to stop up nosebleeds and toothaches, an astringent as well as all around vitality. Yarrow is also, along with Mugwort used in Menstrual health for heavy bleeding and cramps, or to aid in indigestion. We hope you enjoy this beautiful, fragrant, and deeply powerful plant as much as we do. Yarrow, as per its natural oils, and strong aroma is probably a deterrent to parasitic insects.(bees and other beneficial insects love it!) I know in the garden that Insects and deer will not touch it. ~~~ ***As with all Medicinal Plants, especially yarrow, a Planet unto itself in herbal medicine. Please consult with your friendly herbalist, naturopath, or allopathic doctor before taking yarrow. we aren't doctors. our job is to convey these plants from where they are plentiful to where they are needed to make them available. Pregnant women , or women who are pregnant should not ingest yarrow. yarrow may cause an allergic reaction in people who are sensitive to the Asteraceae/Compositae family. Members of this family include ragweed, chrysanthemums, marigolds, daisies. Yarrow may interfere with the absorption of Lithium, and those who take medicines that slow blood clotting should avoid yarrow. again please consult with a trusted herbalist, naturopath, shaman or so forth. Thank you ~~~
