A stunning, large blue Pietersite stone is set into a smooth bezel and then wrapped with roping and encircled with decorative etched and stamped silver. The pendant is finished with an attached 1/2 diameter silver bale. The pendant measures 1 3/4" by 1 3/8" and including the bale is 2 1/4". It weighs 24 grams and is hallmarked W. Denetdale Navajo. Will Denetdale is one of the most talented Navajo gold and silversmiths currently producing jewelry. He is known for his modern technique of using unique, high-quality stones with a mix of contemporary and traditional details! Pietersite belongs in the quartz family and is a combination of tiger eye and translucent quartz. The stone is "chatoyant" meaning it had an optical reflectance effect...it appears to move or undulates as light hits the stone's layers. The pendant has a nice patina that enhances the silverwork and adds to the value of the piece, so, I will leave any polishing to the preference of the buyer. This is from my private collection.
