Description: You are purchasing a used, clean, TESTED, and in working condition AutomationDirect D0-05DD DirectLogic PLC.See photos for the D0-05DD specifications document. This small size PLC is perfect for beginners wanting to learn how to program Programmable Logic Controllers. It also can be used by experienced engineers or hobbyist in real world applications. The DirectSOFT Version 6 programming software can be downloaded from the vendor’s website at AutomationDirect.com for free, installed on a proper PC, and used without an activation ‘key code’, which allows a ladder program up to 100 words of memory. The full version of the software can be purchased later and activated as the user advances. The firmware of the D0-05DD PLC has been updated to the latest version, v5.40 at the time of this posting, using the proper Update Tool, with the scratch pad memory initialized. After testing, the PLC memory and all registers have been cleared, and the scratch pad memory again initialized, making the unit ready for end user programming. The PLC has been fully tested using switches and LEDs, and exercised via a short ladder program for all 8 DC inputs and all 6 DC outputs. The expansion slot has been tested with the use of a p/n D0-08CDD1 combination input/output module (not included), using the same method used on the built-in 8 DC inputs and 6 DC outputs. See photos for the method that was used to test the unit. A C-more micro touch panel was used to test communications port 2 on the PLC. A simple start and stop pushbutton latch circuit with an indicator was programmed into the C-more panel, and then executed in the PLC ladder logic program. The C-more micro touch panel is not included. Removable terminal block with all screws, clear terminal block cover, and all other device covers are included. The DIN rail mounting clip on the bottom of the unit is intact and functional. The unit can also be panel mounted with screws through mounting ears. The photos and test subject in the photo may not be the exact unit that you receive. The unit shipped will be in like new condition with little or no scratches, or cosmetic flaws. The unit will be packaged in a D0-05 type PLC box when available, or a similar box, or bubble wrapped. The boxed/padded unit will then be packed in a larger box for shipping. Some units have the LED key printed on the expansion slot cover, and some have the LED key printed on the front of the unit. Free shipping is included. Warning: If using an output to activate an inductive load, such as a relay coil or solenoid device, a surge suppressor must be used on the inductive load to prevent damage to the PLC’s output electronics! Hint: Program with the three position switch in the ‘Term’ position and use communications port 1. The baud rate is normally fixed at 9.6k baud, 8 data bits, odd parity, 1 start & 1 stop bit. Hint: An ‘END’ instruction must be the last instruction in your ladder logic program to avoid a fatal error when in the ‘RUN’ mode. Hint: Digital I/O for the expansion slot starts at X100 for inputs and Y100 for outputs. Hint: Use communications port 1 for programming. Programming cables are available here on eBay.
