Description: Authentic Russian Cossack kindjal Dagger from the period of Peter the Great Paper Weight Letter Opener ! The kindjal blade is made from Damascus Steel on which the makers mark of two Palm Trees to which is attached under each Palm tree, a Crescent with a star within. If you have any additional information then I would be grateful to obtain it. This kindjal has historic significance because on the blade next to the handle at a later period of its making is Inscribed by fire heated steel the year 1712! This is the year Peter the Great founded his capital St. Petersburg. The handle is made out of a white and dark brown bones? and it is so old that the handle is weathered with age, some holes and crevices as seen in the photo. The Dagger from steel point to the end of the handle measures approximately 52.5 cm. Handle on white side cracked, and on the reverse black side is also weathered and damaged due to age, never the less for its age the dagger is in good working order. The dagger having these opposite color handle has a strategic purpose where one color indicates truth while the opposite indicates other-wise in a covert manner, for the warriors of ancient where very wise in codes that gives the advantage. The kindjal retains its original scabbard which is also weathered and split in the sides straight downwards where the two sides meet, how-ever it is still in tact and is functional. It is definitely Museum quality. No refunds so serious buyers only please. Please feel free to ask any questions or check out my other cool items. Beware when buying a Kindjal or Pesh Kabz daggers for most if not all the others that I have seen for sale on the internet are fake ! Unfortunately my photos are not very good so I will be taking much better photos so that you may better see what an original looks like ! Thank you very much and God bless!
