Founded in 1869, the Aurora Silver Plate Manufacturing Company (formerly the Chicago Silver Plate company) made its home in Aurora, Illinois, and for the next 50 years, the company manufactured silver plate hollowware that was sold all over the country. In 1919, Aurora Silverplate became known as Mullholland Brothers. This 1890 unique, detailed and inspired silver plate stand, designed in twigs with perched birds, leaves and vines, has been separated from the piece it was holding, and would today be the centerpiece in a buffet, holding a serving bowl in silver plate or china, adding hight and interest.
