Description: ARTISAN CRIBBAGE BOARD WITH INLAY WORK. This "One-of-a-Kind" heirloom board was fashioned from specimen quality hardwoods ,that are both beautiful and exotic. These are all very dense and heavy hardwoods offering a lifetime of durability for generations to come. The main body is a solid block of stunning figured Cocobolo heartwood that was imported from Costa Rica. There are sequentially dated vintage coins on the face of this board. The sides are beautiful Quilted Maple which comes from the North Eastern USA and Canada. There are varying grades of quilted maple, based upon the perceived depth of the quilt, as well as the purity of color of the wood itself (with a pure and uniform white being the most valuable). “Quilted maple billets are often sold for extremely high prices for use as tops of electric guitars”. The Quilted Maple sides feature deep hued vermillion red inlay diamonds that were handcut from South American Bloodwood stock and press fitted using a wood vise for an exceptional tight fit with no edge gaps. The sides also feature inlays of vintage US coins. The end pieces are thick slabs of beautiful straight grained Bocote wood which is native to Central and South America. The lathe turned peg storage compartment knob body is Bocote wood with a Bloodwood face and Black Walnut threads. The back side is figured American Black Walnut with a Black Cherry inlay shield heralding the maker mark. Included are two Red and two Maple wooden cribbage pegs and a gift card identifying all of the woods used and country of origin. This board measures 16 inches in length x 5.5 inches in width and is 1.5 inches thick.
