Antique Wood Shaft Hillerich&Bradsby Grand Slam Niblick

Description: This item is an antique vintage right-handed 35 3/4" wood shaft wedge. It is an 8 niblick wedge. Made by Hillerich&Bradsby from their Grand Slam series. 54* loft and a C 4 swingweight. The head is clean and not all rusted. It does have the expected play nicks and dings. Please look at the many zoom pictures for a better idea of condition. The shaft is an old apparently original hickory. The shaft has a minor bend, I see no cracks and it has some play at the hosel. All hickory shafted clubs should be re-set prior to play. The grip is a newer long leather wrap that is in good vintage condition. If you are considering playing with this club all wooden shafted irons should be re-set prior to play. While I see no issues with the shaft (other than those mentioned above), I suggest that whipping be added just above the hosel to help prevent breakage. These wooden shafts often have hidden defects and are liable to break at any time. I do not guarantee wooden shafts against breakage when put into play. Never hit an old wooden shafted club off a driving range mat. Never hit an old wooden shafted wood with a hard range ball. Shipping in the US is calculated and based on a 3-pound box.
