Description: Antique Flint Glass Celery Vase.Brand: attributed to New England Glass Company, Cambridge, Massachusetts that operated in 1818-1887 and became a Libbey Glass Company in 1888.Pattern: Sharp Diamond, a.k.a. Diamond Point, first produced in 1868. The clear rim of the vase is very slightly flared and separated from the sharp diamond body by a beveled line, then the pattern starts with a half-diamond row. Measures approximately 9.25 inches tall, 4.5 inches diameter of the top and the base, 6 inches deep and weighs 2 lbs. The 6-side faceted leg gives rise to a paneled bottom of the bowl of the vase. This vase is as useful and practical as a unique and valuable piece of history. Condition is good, free of chips, cracks or repairs. The signs of aging include the scuffs on the bottom of the base and a few pin-size nicks on the leg, the base shows manufacturing imperfections of those early times, all shown in pictures. Overall, it is very nice with excellent eye appeal, no issues with the rim, diamond points of the body or edge of the base. This beautiful antique celery vase is a stunning example of Early American Pressed Glass & Flint Glass. The vase features a clear color and sharp diamond point pattern. It showcases a brilliant appearance and a long ring when tapped on. Track Page Views WithAuctiva's Counter
