Description: Antique French Tapestry, Aubusson, France.Beautiful antique, machine woven wool tapestry. A tableau vivant, depicting men and women at a garden party, all in formal 18th century attire; some gathered around large see-saw swing, others playing a game of blind man’s bluff. Accenting the scene are trees, a dog and a chateau in the background. Nicely preserved, with pastel colors intact. *One small stain as shown circled in blue in one photo. The stain actually blends well with the leaves etc on the ground, so it doesn’t catch the eye.*Shows no other signs of damage or restorations. Very decorative period piece. (c)Late 19th or early 20th century Measures approximately 57” x 20”. Sepia toned base color, with tints of pink, blue, green, etc in clothing and scenery.
