Description: This is a gorgeous Art Deco example of a silver tone nickel plated brass Charvai House of Tre-Jur compact vanity with mirror. The compact measures approximately 2-1/8 Inches in diameter by 1/4 Inch thick/deep. The compact is extremely clean inside and out there is no powder residue. The back of the compact features this "The Little One", "Charvai", "The New Odeur", "House of Tre-Jur Inc.", and "Paris New York". The top/lid has a wonderful mirror that is great condition without chips or cracks. All hinges and clasp closures are aligned and work perfectly. There is the original blue round puff for the pressed powder. The powder compartment is the lower compartment which has the removable disc that hold the powder. There is an additional removable Hudnut powder disc. This compact is in great vintage condition all hardware, mirror, pads, etc. This would make a perfect addition to any compact vanity collection of Art Deco, Art Nouveau, Mid Century Modern, etc. This would make a perfect and thoughtful gift idea for a collector or that special person, especially yourself. The House of Tre-Jur was very popular between 1923 to 1942. The girl logo had a full skirt until 1926 when they were forced to revise it due to copyright when it became just the top half of the lady. Compressed powder was their major product, originally scented with Joli Memoire, the Charvai Odeur scent was launched in 1928. They began producing compacts with bold colors in 1927 and beyond.
