Description: This beautiful clock was made in the 1880s by highly regarded French clockmaker Francois Arsene Margaine for the M.W. Galt Bro silversmith and jewelry company . The movement is marked with Margaine’s beehive logo and numbered 5249. It is set in a brass and beveled glass case with a viewing glass on top and measures roughly 7 x 4 inched in size. This is a lovely working antique clock that will add to any home and/or collection. This 8 day clock has a gong and strikes both hourly and on the half hour with repeater on demand. Numbers are set on a ceramic face . It has been tested twice for accuracy and kept time to within a minute on both occasions . It seems to function as it should over the two 8 day testing periods. However please keep in mind that I am not an expert. The description given is to the best of my ability with the limited knowledge I possess . Because of this I cannot guaranty the longevity of movement- only that is in working order at this time. I strongly recommend an inspection and cleaning when received. Please take note of overall condition in the pictures provided before purchase. . The key I received with it is included but I am unsure if it’s the original .
