Description: Antique #8 cast iron griddle with gate mark and fancy handle. Excellent restored condition. The gate mark or raised line across the bottom indicates it was manufactured in the mid to late 1800s. The maker is unknown. Sits dead flat on a glass surface with no wobble or spinning. No chips or cracks. Weighs in at 2 pounds 7 ounces. The cooking surface measures 8 1/2 inches across. The bottom surface is very good with some typical sulfur pitting. It is very rare that a vintage cast iron skillet will have absolutely no movement on a glass surface. Most were not perfect coming out of the foundry. There will likely be some small amount of movement on a flat surface. If the skillet is absolutely perfect, I will definitely point that out :)
