Description: A fantastic pair of ancient Roman Empire gold earrings. Roman gold earrings, ca. 100 B.C. - 100 A.D. Gold hoop earrings with bead decoration. 1 earring has loose piece and crack at center bend. 1 3/16in long. 2.5 grams. Note says excavated in Lebanon-Syria. Provenance: purchased from professor Cornell, who inherited items from his uncle, Percival Cornell, who collected in the 1950s and earlier. This is everything I know about these relics. A competent restoration expert or jeweler could repair these if you wish. Otherwise they are great as is and will be a nice addition to any ancient jewelry or ancient artifact collection. It’s not everyday you can own something that was owned by a high ranking individual thousands of years ago. Ships ASAP! Thanks
