The VPX-B104R VPASS (Visual Parking Assist Sensor System) includes four OEM-grade ultrasonic sensors that mount in your rear bumper, working with your rear-view camera system to guide you into parking spaces. The VPASS works with all 2011-up Alpine rear-view cameras and most other brand rear-view camera systems as well.The system creates nine zones in the space behind your vehicle, which display in a 3-color grid that overlays your camera image. The sensors will detect most large stationary objects, highlight the grid it's in, and give audible and visual warnings as you back up. If you're employing a multi-view camera, the VPASS will automatically switch to the downward viewing angle when you're in the red zone, getting close to whatever's back there. The display also shows the exact distance from your rear bumper to the obstruction, for bump-free parking even in the darkest garages.
