Description: Busts sculpted by Don Winton of Twin Winton fame very rarely come up for sale. I collected Twin Winton for many years, and I don't recall ever seeing one for sale. This is a bronze bust of Alexis De Tocqueville who was a French aristocrat, diplomat, sociologist, political scientist, political philosopher, and historian. The bust is about 8" tall and 7" wide. The green marble base that it is attached to is 8" x 8" x 1.5". It weighs a hefty 20 lbs. 5 oz. Engraved on the back of the bust is: ALEXIS DE TOCQUEVILLE SCULPTURE by DON WINTON. This sculpture is in very good condition with no damage of any kind. According to the "Collector's Guide to Don Winton Designs" there is a similar sculpture of Alexis at the United Way Headquarters in Alexandria Virginia. My photos show the actual sculpture that you will receive. It will be carefully and securely packaged for shipment.
