Description: This African handheld wooden weaving loom is a unique antique that, if hung on the wall, could be considered art. It is handcrafted and constructed of six parts each designed to combine to form this ingenious loom. The large top and bottom pieces are boat shaped, decorated with carved lattice decorations and support the other pieces of the loom. In the center is a wide flat board that is wrapped with natural fibers that are attached to a long narrow wooden shuttle. On the right and left of the enter pieces are two vertical posts that are carved with standing figures, male and female. Together these pieces form a large and interesting one-of-a-kind weaving loom. This loom is a great addition to any collection of weaving looms or a valuable teaching tool for those involved with fabric art. It is sure to be a conversation starter. The loom is 16" high x 17" wide. It is in very good condition with the exception of one spot on the lower right vertical post that has a small repair. I will show this in my photos
