Description: A scarce Shelley Art Deco "Red Roof Cottage" Mode shape tea trio. C.1930. Seconds ware pattern No 2115 Country Cottage With Red Roof: Grey trees in background. Hand enamelled red roof cottage with winding path and green bushes. Yellow trim. White ground. Entered in pattern book during or after 1930. The back stamp is the 1925-1940 green cartouche mark. The shape of this trio is the Mode shape which was only produced between 1930 & 1932. Dimensions: diameter of cup footed base 48mm (1.8 inches) / diameter across top of cup 79mm (3.1 inches) / height of cup 72mm (2.75 inches) / diameter of saucer 136mm (5.3 inches) / side plate 161mm (6.4 inches). Condition: All 3 pieces are in very good clean condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, rubbing, scratching or any signs of wear. Minor glaze imperfections as associated with any seconds ware pattern. All paintwork / enamelling is in very order with no fading to the pattern. All 3 pieces have a very good "ping" to them when lightly tapped.
