Description: Yo folks! I bought a new computer so I can at last edit my auctions and add new ones! It will take me a while to get the hang of using my 15-year-newer computer. For the past two years I have only been able to ship items that have sold. New auctions should be appearing with the new (2025) year. Silly Symphonies #2, 1953 Dell Giant, 96 pages, $0.25 cover price. Stories starring the characters (plus others) on the cover are separated by activity pages, none of which were cut up or marked, including the dot-to-dot! Two of the more memorable stories are "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" which is from the movie Fantasia and "Lambert the Sheepish Lion" which is from a long cartoon. This square and tight comic with the exceptionally glossy and clean cover is a joy to hold in the hands! The biggest flaw is a group of three 2-inch pinch bends on the front cover—they are gentle bends (not creases) without color break mid-page. There is a half-inch curved bend (not a crease and probably caused by a thumb) on the front cover with color break. A small area wrapping around the binding edge has lost its gloss; that half-inch-wide strip runs from Hiawatha’s leg on the front cover to Mickey’s hat on the back cover. The only other flaws are minor edge abrasions and small bends on the glossy cover. Paper is supple, odorless, and the tint is light off-white 9 except around the margins of the inside front cover and the first page, where it is light tan 7 (pure white = 10). This comic has spent the last quarter-century in a tobacco-free home in the low-humidity western States, good for paper preservation. The grade on this super-glossy, unmarked, 69-year-old comic book is F/VF 7.0 with a retail value of $132 (2020 Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide). GRADING My comic book grading is done carefully and slowly to ensure that no imperfections are overlooked. I regularly refer to the Overstreet Comic Book Grading Guide, 2nd Edition 2003. I am a comic collector in the process of downsizing, and I have both the experience and time to grade my comics accurately. I have never received a complaint about my grading. COMIC BAGS & PACKAGING This comic is in a new comic bag with a backing board. It will be sealed in a plastic bag to protect it from humidity and moisture. It will be sandwiched between two thick pieces of corrugated cardboard and shipped in a corrugated-cardboard comic book mailer. I have shipped thousands of comics to hundreds of eBay buyers and I have never been notified of a comic arriving damaged. I have never received a negative or even a neutral feedback from any eBay buyer or seller! FEEDBACK I leave feedback as soon as I’ve shipped the items, and my only concern is that the buyer pays within one week of the close of the auction.
