This booster pack has been professionally graded by a third party grading company (Professional Sports Authenticator, or PSA for short) at the Near-Mint/Mint grade of 8!!! This is an authentic and sealed booster pack that was removed from an original booster box manufactured over twenty years ago. The Harry Potter trading card game was created during the early success of the Harry Potter books in the United States, and the trading card game was wildly popular at release. Several expansions to the game were printed in the following years, but the original base set featured these shiny gold packs and contained hand-drawn art of the original cast of characters, locations, and moments from the story penned by J.K. Rowling. The art was created before the films were released, so the designs were highly influential in the world-building and creative process for what we recognize as Harry Potter today. THIS BOOSTER PACK HAS A PSA GRADE OF EIGHT. The score of an 8 means the booster pack was ranked at a Mint/Near-Mint condition. The score of eight is certainly not the highest of scores, (indeed not a 9 or the highest score of 10) but because so few booster packs from this series have survived still sealed after so many years, very few of these booster packs have been graded and therefore the score of an eight-out-of-ten is pretty dang good!!! More affordable than the highest grades of booster pack, but still in very good condition with wonderful eye-appeal and great collector value, this booster pack still makes a thrilling addition to any collection of the trading cards or even as a stand alone piece in a display of Harry Potter collectibles. The PSA company has beautifully "slabbed" this booster pack in a hard plastic shell that features information about the booster pack and a QR-code that can be scanned for additional information about the booster pack and the item. This hard plastic shell is the "newer" style of shell to secure booster packs in and it looks absolutely stunning! The crystal clear archival grade plastic allows the owner of this piece to admire both the front and back of the booster pack while still keeping it in perfect cosmetic condition and ready for display. Buying a graded booster pack is also comforting to the buyer because you know that the item is authentic and in a condition that numerous persons agreed upon. It is unlikely that a player or collector would attempt to open this booster pack up and see the cards inside because the display of it graded is so wonderful, but if one did want to open up the booster pack at least they would be certain that the booster pack is authentic and that it has not been tampered with in any way. Again, this item makes for a stunning display piece or addition to a graded card collection from the set. This booster pack features the art of Hedwig, the pet owl that Harry Potter keeps in the story. These cards are unlikely to ever be printed again due to licensing issues and corporate shuffling of intellectual property, and so these cards are very special and unique. The sealed booster pack makes a wonderful decoration on its own, and secured in the hard plastic slab it will remain in perfect cosmetic condition for years to come!
