Description: In the 1997-98 NBA Basketball season, Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls capped of an unprecedented second 3-peat, winning their third straight NBA title after also accomplishing the feat from 1990-91 to 1992-93. To celebrate the 1998 Finals, a marketing firm called Preferred Customer Service issued this 8-coin commemorative set. Nothing in the accompanying material states the name of the private mint that struck the coins, but I am 100% certain it was Highland Mint. They struck the coins for the 1996 set, which I have listed currently. Only 500 sets were produced, each serially-numbered, with the serial number on each coin. This is set number 11/500. Each coin is one full Troy ounce of .999 silver. Two coins are plated both sides in 24K gold. Two more are plated in 24K gold on one side, the other side is gold with silver highlights. Each coin is in the original plastic capsule, and displayed in the custom black leather-like case. The exterior material has flaked off in places; see images. Included are the letter and card from PCS that serve as authentication. The hand-numbered certificate, and the booklet mentioned in the letter are not present. The individual capsules were removed from the case for photographing and returned to the case. The capsules were not opened nor the coins handled. Again, only 500 sets were made. A smart investment not only in vintage Bulls collectibles but in precious metals. Additionally, there is excellent break potential as fans of the other playoff teams may be in search of these individual pieces. You do not see many of them on eBay. Free shipping is included. I am also listing the 1996 set of (7) .999 silver coins, (3) w/ 24K gold.
