1972 Pontiac Factory Aluminum H.O. / High Output Intake Kit 488945

Description: At last! We've succeeded where others have failed. New factory aluminum intake manifold that came factory on 1972 GTO / Firebird / Trans Am and Judge cars with 455 H/O engine. Will also work on all 1965-79 Pontiac 350 / 389 / 400 / 428 and 455 engine, but is correct for 1972 - (engines that are from 1972 or newer must use Felpro gasket #1233). It has cast number of 488945 and has the correct "W" snowflake logo which was used in 1972 by Winters foundry and now is registered and owned by us at The Parts Place. Kit includes one aluminum intake manifold, one cast iron exhaust crossover (this is not the correct exhaust crossover for 1972, but will function properly if Felpro gasket set #1233 is used), and factory two-piece crossover heat shield (not correct for 1972, but will function properly) which insulates the intake manifold from heat produced by the crossover. These will be made in limited quantities. *Also available from The Parts Place (for an additional $250), is a professionally ported version of this intake manifold featuring a modified plenum and contoured runners for increased velocity and performance for higher horsepower applications. *This is the stock intake.
