Description: Our Speedster was bought as an all matching bare body by the previous owner from a guy who had preserved the car in gibbs oil from the 1960s until 2021 in a San Francisco basement. The original motor and gearbox are long gone. The car has zero rust and has been professionally painted in a way to emulate the original bare metal look that it was stored in. The kardex shows this car was a white/red late '55 1600 "Normal" when new. No further delivery info besides it being sold through Hoffman. The car now has a 1720cc big bore C motor on 40mm solexes and dual mount C gearbox, the ultimate driver combination for a 356. Both of these were built by Vic Skirmants of 356 Enterprises 10+ years ago. The motor runs great and I just had a major service done on the drivetrain by Scott's Independent in Anaheim, CA. The suspension was modified to fit 356A style mounting points for better shock travel. Currently has Vredstein sprints on fresh technomagnesio alloy wheels. Stock 40mm drums, ZF steering box. It has a full stock '55 Speedster interior and is trimmed in a beautiful green vinyl with green carpet. Original Glaspar top recently restored.
