Item's Code: XR-2577 ABOUT: ISKANDER-NAME is the last poem of "Pyateritsy" ("Khamse") of the genius Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi. This is the largest work of the poet and his most significant contribution to the treasury of world literature. In this poem, Nizami’s social and philosophical views, his brilliant poetic mastery found the most complete and vivid expression. By the breadth of the idea, the scope of events, the depth and richness of thought ISKANDER-NAME is one of the unsurpassed works of world literature. In the first part of the poem - "Sharaf-name" - Nizami tells about the military campaigns of the commander Alexander the Great and his exploits. In the second part - "Iqbal-name" - the main place is occupied by socio-political and philosophical issues. ESKANDAR-NĀMA OF NEẒĀMĪ, the poetical version of the life of Alexander by the great 12th century narrative poet Neẓāmī Ganjavī (535-605/1141-1209).
