Description: Here is a pre 1955 vintage body of a futuristic styled plastic car/automobile, made by Plakie Toys of Ohio, USA during an era of new invented plastics, replacing metal sanctioned during WWII. A streamlined and single "finned" maroon body with integrated sliver colored front and back bumpers with single front headlights detailing. Cab interior, which is molded to the body w/underside plastic pegs, has simple white molded front/back hump seating w/no detailing. Original not provided dashboard or steering wheel detail. An extended egg shaped bubble top roof is missing. A track for a roof piece is clearly visible. The underside 4 wheels are a different harder plastic, were painted white, and connected by a steel rods. There is slight warpage on the left side (pulling away from the pegged white interior connection) with scuffing of the silver bumper edges coloring, and wear of white paint on painted wheels. No cracks, breaks, repairs. Still a nice clean body surface sheen for a toy that may have been played with regularly 75 years ago. Close in manufacture of 1940's era Wannatoy bubble roof cars. 7 1/2 inch long,3 1/4 inch wide, 1 7/8 inch high. This item is only available as an auction or can be purchased as a buy-it-now.
