Description: 1800's $5 The West River Bank - Jamaica, VERMONT Note 1800's $5 The West River Bank note from Jamaica, Vermont.This bank operated from 1853 until 1865 when it became the West River National Bank, Charter number 1564 in 1865. There are only a small handful of National notes known from this bank that was liquidated in 1885. This note is a chance to collect a piece from this bank at a small fractional of what a National would cost. Quite an attractive note for coin enthusiasts too! This note has a bold "FIVE" protector in orange under the bank title and a Vignette of five Cherubs sitting on five Liberty Seated Dollars. On the bottom right is a Vignette of an Indian and a Sailor seated with a "FIVE" shield between them. This note grades Extremely Fine with some mounting residue on the reverse.
